Jungle Pyramid

The Jungle Pyramid is a moss-cobbled jungle temple gated by a redstone lever puzzle and arrow traps. It generates in the Overworld, across 2 biome types - Jungle and Bamboo Jungle - which makes the Jungle Pyramid rare to come across as you explore.

Expect to find the Jungle Pyramid between about Y 60 and Y 80, so set your search to that elevation. Jungle pyramids (jungle temples) only spawn in jungle and bamboo-jungle biomes. Because those biomes are themselves uncommon and the temples are draped in vines, they are noticeably harder to find than their desert cousins.

Added back in Minecraft 1.3.1, its most recognisable trait is captured in one line: cobblestone and mossy cobblestone construction.

On Java Edition the quickest method is the command /locate structure minecraft:jungle_pyramid, which prints the coordinates of the nearest Jungle Pyramid and the distance to it.

Without commands, head for one of the Jungle Pyramid's biomes (Jungle and Bamboo Jungle) and search the Y 60 to 80 band. Because it is rare, a long expedition is likely before you reach a Jungle Pyramid, so bring food and gear.

Use /locate structure minecraft:jungle_pyramid. Found in jungle biomes. Cobblestone structures overgrown with vines. The dense jungle foliage can make them hard to spot.

Once inside, there are two chests: one is reached through tripwire-guarded corridors, the other is unlocked by solving a three-lever redstone puzzle in the basement. Both pull from the jungle-temple loot table.

Among the Jungle Pyramid's randomised drops, the most common pulls are Bone at about 62%, Bamboo at about 51%, Iron Ingot at about 38%, and Wild Armor Trim at about 33%. At the other end of the odds sit the jackpot items: Enchanted Book (random) at roughly 5% and Emerald at roughly 9%, so opening multiple Jungle Pyramid chests pays off over time.

The Jungle Pyramid has no mobs that spawn as part of the structure itself, so the danger is environmental rather than a garrison to fight.

The specific hazards to plan around: arrow trap dispensers on the first floor and tripwire triggers arrow traps. There is more to watch for too - jungle mobs around the structure - so do not rush.

The temple is a two-storey cobblestone and mossy-cobblestone block with a vine-covered exterior. Inside are stairways, a dispenser-and-tripwire arrow trap, and a hidden lower chamber whose chest is sealed behind a lever combination, alongside a sticky-piston redstone mechanism that players often harvest.

Other things you will notice as you explore: two-floor structure with puzzle, arrow trap dispenser mechanism, and lever puzzle on ground floor.

The lever puzzle requires flipping the levers in the correct order (left, right, left) to reveal the hidden chest. Tripwires on the first floor trigger arrow dispensers. Jungle pyramids are rarer than desert pyramids because jungle biomes are less common.
